Meet Mary Hernandez, a native of Floydada, Texas, whose roots are deeply intertwined with the farming community that surrounded her small hometown. With a drive to serve and protect, Hernandez embarked on a journey to Lubbock to pursue a career in Law Enforcement, where she has called Precinct 3 home for the past 31 years.

Her path led her through the rigorous training of the Lubbock Police Department's academy, marking the beginning of a 25-year tenure dedicated to safeguarding the citizens of Lubbock County. Starting in the Patrol Division, Hernandez diligently served her community, ensuring safety and security for all. After 13 years on patrol, she transitioned to the Property Crimes Division, delving into investigations and collaborating closely with the District Attorney's office to seek justice for victims—a role she fulfilled for 12 years before retiring in 2014.

But retirement didn't slow her down. Concerned about the issues facing Precinct 3, where she's lived for over 30 years, Hernandez felt compelled to act. With her unwavering commitment to public safety, she understands that as the population grows, these concerns will only become more urgent. Hernandez believes that fostering stronger ties with Law Enforcement is crucial and understands why a collaboration between citizens and law enforcement agencies is necessary. Infrastructure and managing tax increases are also top priorities, motivating her decision to run for County Commissioner.

Transparency and responsiveness are not just words for Hernandez; they're guiding principles. She firmly believes that constituents deserve a representative who listens, engages, and acts in their best interests. That's why Mary Hernandez is ready to roll up her sleeves and be YOUR advocate as the next County Commissioner for Precinct 3.

Hernandez deeply values your support and would be incredibly grateful to earn your vote in the primary election.
